West Village Town Center Plan, Konstantinovo, Russia
The West Village is one of several urban mixed use villages that are being developed by the Eurasia Group of Companies as a part of the larger Konstantinovo community, which was master planned by ROMA Design Group to future growth for approximately 150,000 people in the Moscow region.
Nestled into a gently rolling plain, the West Village is situated between the Konopelka River on the east and an extensive forest preserve to the west and north. Planned for 8,700 to 9,000 dwelling units with a future population of approximately 22,000 people, the West Village will be comprised of three districts, each focused around a school complex, that will accommodate up to 1,300 grade school and kindergarten students. The neighborhoods within each district are structured around parks and open space, with the public environment further extending into blocks and buildings. While smaller retail shops are planned at key locations within each of the neighborhoods, a significant concentration of local serving retail uses as well as public administration, clinic and additional medical/service office will be provided within a Town Center at the heart of the community. The Town Center Plan set forth the layout of buildings, streets and open spaces and provided conceptual architectural and programmatic direction for buildings and open spaces.
