Downtown Parking Garage, Salinas, CA

ROMA was commissioned by the City of Salinas to assist with planning and design of a new 450 car garage between the National Steinbeck Center and a new cinema complex on the historic Main Street. The new garage demonstrates how public parking can be successfully integrated into a historic downtown, providing service, convenience and support to the downtown while providing an attractive complement to the area that reinforces the image and identity of the community. Furthermore, ROMA was commissioned to prepare urban design and streetscape design documentation for the surrounding network of streets, with the goal to improve the circulation and provide enhanced pedestrian amenities and visual access for the Downtown area.
